Hike Up Devils Tower, Black Hills

Enough leisurely strolling around for us, time to step it up! Today we went for a great hike up to Devils Tower in the Black Hills.  After a great drive through the park we thought it would be a good idea to get off the roads and try and get away from the crowds and go for a walk.  Unfortunately there were actually quite a few people on the trail, although the further we got up the hill/mountain the numbers certainly dwindled. T

 The photo below shows the lake where we parked up and set off from.  
 The combinations of the meadows, pine trees and the rock in the background on the way up.   
 The last bit turned into a bit of a climb but it was fantastic to get to the top.   

The views of the Black Hills and the Cathdral spires were definitely worth the walk up, the views were absolutely immense I don’t think the camera can do it justice.

 The northern part of the park was full of pinnacles like the ones below.
