Crater Lake

Our drive today was another special one. We took a little detour off the coast to head east to visit Crater Lake. The deepest lake in America. It is also the bluest, clearest lake we have ever seen. Formed when a volcano devoured itself, this lake is filled only by rain water and snow melt, which is why it is so blue.

There have been many forest fires around the area so we were unsure if we would even make it up there today, but after checking the website we found all the roads that we needed open. It was spectacular! S
