After a few more days in Brisbane to see my Mum and some more family (there are a lot of us!) we headed back out in the direction we came in, which was the Scenic Rim.
Tim had found a place further south that had bush camping and lots of hiking/4×4 trails so we thought that would be a good place to stay for a few days. The track leading up to our campsite was steep and after the rain a little slippy but the views were amazing! We were perched on the edge of a hill overlooking rolling green hills with mountains further back. It’s a pity the toilet/shower facilities were not as amazing. Neither were their mowing abilities. However the owners of the property I think had had a hard time of it lately and considering we had the whole place to ourselves we dealt with it as the view more than made up for it.

Days were spent walking up and down the tracks with Tim starting to do a lot longer distances on his hikes. The hiking was especially tough around here because it was so hilly, but the scenery was spectacular. Griffy was actually the one that held us back as we had to rest him after a big hike as his little legs were too sore. His mind was there but his body is definitely showing his age.

Some of the tracks were so steep we both were pretty surprised 4x4s would get up them. We certainty were not taking our ute up or down them. Plus we were having a blast walking around the whole park on foot. However one day a worker from the park was driving around in a tiny little Suzuki and next minute was easily climbing up one of the tracks we thought impassable! Such nervous Nellys we are!
We did a day trip out to the town to Kooralbyn to check out their mountain bike tracks but unfortunately they were shut due to a big storm that went through. The view from the lookout was great where we stopped for lunch. Otherwise it was a pretty nondescript little town with not much else happening other than a golf course and corresponding resort.

Otherwise our time was spent cooking over the campfire, drawing, crocheting and listening to the cricket while admiring the million dollar view. S
