Our time in Jindabyne had come to an end and we packed up (without the camper) and headed off in convoy with Mum and Dad towards the Sapphire Coast and then on to Tilba Tilba.
The drive away from Jindabyne and through the Snowy Mountains gave us some stupendous views and soon enough we were descending the last 1000m through rainforest and then emerged on the south coast of NSW and were treated to our first views of the ocean for 3 months (admittedly not that long but having lived on the coast for so long it is for us).
We had picked Tilba Tilba after having watched some of the “River Cottage Australia” and remembering how wonderful all the views were and on arrival we were not disappointed! It was maybe all the recent rain but the whole area was so green and Tilba Tilba itself was a quaint little village with a few touristy shops and a nice pub. We were staying almost in the middle of the village so we could easily walk in yet we’re still surrounded by fields. The place definitely had a nice relaxed feel about it. It was definitely a tourist village and wasn’t a “working” town in that there weren’t really and functional shops just places to buy trinkets but it has to be said that the buildings were all lovingly restored and the whole place was extremely well looked after and presented.

From our base we were able to enjoy short day trips to Narooma on the coast where we enjoyed some lovely walks along the boardwalks soaking in the sun and the sea air. The whole area was incredibly picturesque and the weather had got a fair bit warmer too so we were able to enjoy being outside that little bit more again.

Narooma Golf Club was the venue of the first of this round of golf matches with (against) Mum and Dad and it was a stunning course set right on the cliff edge. The views from the course were wonderful and we had a great game, in that I mean that Sarah and I won but it really was just great to be able to all play again.

For the rest of our stay we enjoyed relaxing in our superb Airbnb in the sleepy village. Spending time going on walks and even enjoying a couple of beers in the local pub. The time flew and it felt like we had only just arrived when it was time to pack up and set off again. A lovely part of the world and a golf course we will certainly remember. T
