Today was the start of our mini holiday within the hike. We had a very flat 7kms to walk to Radovljica and a rest day after. After that we have another easy walk and three days in Bled hence the mini holiday feel of this days walk.
It was another beautiful sunny day and we slowly meandered through tiny little picturesque towns and fields. It didn’t take us long to make it to Radovljica but just outside we came across a little dairy farm that had a vending machine selling all it’s products. Including a milk dispenser which we saw a local lady using to buy bottles of milk. We had to investigate and ended up drinking our own deliciously flavoured milk. Such a good idea!

Radovljica has a medieval old town with houses dating back to the 16th century. We were lucky enough to be staying in one of these. Our hosts were kind enough to let us in early and give us the tour and it was super cool. The owner’s family had owned it for generations and it is now an art studio with rooms in the upper floors. It has a very bohemian vibe and we loved the fact we had two nights here to rest our weary bodies.

Other than sitting back and people watching in the square we really only had one point of interest to go and see and that was the Museum of Apiculture. After seeing the beehive on Anton Jansa on our hike we were interested to read about the man who they claim is the father of modern beekeeping but the museum gave us far more than that with really interesting exhibits on the lifestyle of bees and we both walked out of there learning a thing or two.
