The final stage!! I can’t believe it has been 28 days since we started in Novo Gorica but after roughly 380kms we will have completed the circle back to Tolmin.

We woke in the middle of the night to a massive storm which didn’t bode well for our last day but luckily we only had 8kms to walk so sat around and waited for a break in the weather before heading off. We had to time it well as there were also thunder storm warnings for the afternoon so the window was small and we honestly were expecting to get drenched at some stage.
We trekked a little around the lake and then up and along a ridge with glimpses of the Soca river and Tolmin and then headed back down and met the path that we walked into Tolmin the first time which seems so long ago. Didn’t get rained on once!

To tell you the honest truth both of us are feeling really great and apart from being a little foot sore we could have continued. As we have said before the luxury of staying in accomodation with a hot shower and comfy bed really makes a massive difference. When we finished the Larapinta I vowed to Tim that I was never doing a multi day hike over 5 days ever again but after finishing this one I have given him permission to start researching our next one which will probably be a mix of camping and staying in accomodation to get the best of both worlds.
Slovenia is definitely a place that we would recommend to anyone. We have loved every minute of it here and would definitely come back and do some more adventuring. S
