I am almost still too annoyed to write this blog but I will. We had decided to change plans a little and had found a great farmhouse to stay in about an hour outside of Canberra. On arrival we were all excited as to the prospect of spending our last few days together here withContinue reading “Bungonia and Covid”

Khancoban
We were so excited to be back on the road! After two weeks to the day of delays due to COVID and bad weather we were packing up at Jindabyne and heading out! The weather really turned it on for our departure with a perfect blue bird day. Our destination was Khancoban which was mainlyContinue reading “Khancoban”
Tumbarumba
We packed up at Khancoban in the drizzle and hoped that our canvas would not get too wet all folded up and that the weather would be kind to us for our arrival an hour and a half down the road at Tumbarumba. The weather forecast looked promising but the rain kept falling as weContinue reading “Tumbarumba”
Narrandera and The Rock
We had plans to go into Victoria and check out the snowy mountains area on that side of the border however as the temps had started to drop we decided to leave the mountains for the summer and start heading west into South Australia and eventually north for warmer temps. I was a little disappointedContinue reading “Narrandera and The Rock”
Mildura
We spent a bit of time by the river at Narrandera planning what the next stage of our trip was going to entail and we soon noticed that the Mundi Mundi Bash was going to be on near Broken Hill at more or less the same time as we were planning to pass through. AsContinue reading “Mildura”
Mundi Mundi Big Bash
We left Mildura bright and early super excited for the Mundi Mundi Bash. Pretty much as soon as we left Mildura the scenery changed to that of what we would consider the outback. Hardly any trees, red dirt and scrubby little bushes and emus. Although the scenery looks quite desolate the colours are spectacular andContinue reading “Mundi Mundi Big Bash”
Broken Hill
At the end of the festival we stayed an extra night to let the dust settle and the crowds start making their way onwards to their next destination. While we weren’t the last to leave we were pretty close and it was great to see that nearly no rubbish was left behind just pathways beatenContinue reading “Broken Hill”
Peterborough
Our next part of the journey was into South Australia and the Flinders Ranges but we needed to do a little overnighter in Peterborough to break up the drive. We also decided to stay there because we were told their tourist information centre would have more detail on some of the unsealed roads we wereContinue reading “Peterborough”
Rawnsley Park and the Flinders Ranges
After hightailing it out of Peterborough we decided on a station stay just outside of Wilpena. This place had been recommended to us by several people who we have met along the road with one of those people even detailing to us where we should camp on the station to get the best views ofContinue reading “Rawnsley Park and the Flinders Ranges”
Blinman
Having enjoyed the magnificent views of the Flinders ranges so much for the last few days we decided to continue our drive up through the ranges towards a tiny town called Blinman and then continue on down a dirt track running through a gorge to a place called Leigh Creek and hopefully a supermarket. TheContinue reading “Blinman”
