Well as they say a lot of “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” and it’s easy to see why!! We were lucky and stayed at the Flamingo which was right in the middle of the strip and meant we could easily walk to loads of the other famous casinos, Bellagio, Ceaser’s Palace, MGM, Excalibur,Continue reading “Vegas, Baby”

Death Valley
The name says it all really. The landscape slowly gets more and more desolate the nearer to the Valley and the temperature gets hotter and hotter. Our first little jaunt out of the car was at Mosaic Canyon. On arrival we were told that hiking was not advised due to the extreme heat. We wereContinue reading “Death Valley”

Some Tim Thoughts

The Land of The Giants
We left San Francisco with a vague plan and on the way decided to head towards Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. We arrived a bit quicker than we thought due to the huge four lane Route 5. On arrival we noticed a bit of smoke in the air and quite a few firemen aroundContinue reading “The Land of The Giants”

Route 1, An Epic Drive
The plan for the day: to drive the infamous route 1 down the Californian coast. We are lucky though as we are getting to experience the slightly less travelled route coming into San Fran from the north. It was, of course, a foggy start to the day but it all adds to the atmosphere ofContinue reading “Route 1, An Epic Drive”
The Lost Coast and Avenue of the Giants (very Inida Jonesish!)
Today was an epic road tip adventure. We started out in Crescent City. The city was a little blah but the bay was very nice. We drove down the coast on the 101 towards Eureka. We started pretty early so there was quite a bit of fog which made it eerily beautiful. Especially the townContinue reading “The Lost Coast and Avenue of the Giants (very Inida Jonesish!)”

It’s even better when it’s not a place you have found in a travel guide or researched online. A couple of days ago we were driving from Crater Lake, Sarah wasContinue reading “Shady Cove”
